About Me

Hello! 👋
#

I am Ansuman Tripathy — a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer based in the UK with a passion for building things, both digital and physical.

By day, I architect and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, with deep expertise in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and Data Centre Operations. I have spent over a decade designing resilient systems that scale.

By night (and weekends), I am an incurable tinkerer. You will find me:

  • 🔧 Designing and soldering custom circuit boards and electronic modules
  • 🖨️ 3D printing enclosures, mounts, and prototypes
  • 🤖 Programming Arduinos and Raspberry Pis for home automation
  • 🏠 Building and maintaining an extensive homelab — complete with Proxmox virtualisation, UniFi networking, self-hosted services, and comprehensive monitoring
  • 🎮 Retro gaming on a custom Batocera setup

My Homelab
#

My home network is a proper production environment in miniature — UniFi managed switching and WiFi (including WiFi 6E), VLANs for segmentation, Pi-hole for DNS, Grafana/Prometheus/Loki for observability, self-hosted email, reverse proxy with wildcard certs, and a UPS-protected NAS with automated failover.

I believe the best way to learn is to build, break, and rebuild.

Philosophy
#

“Infrastructure should be invisible when it works, and informative when it does not.”

I bring the same rigour to my homelab as I do to production environments — because good habits compound.
